TA Episodio 16: Retrocomputing con Bruno Grampa

Bruno Grampa presenta i suoi computer all'open day dell'All About AppleAlcuni episodi di Tecnica Arcana hanno una gestazione molto più lunga di quanto si possa immaginare ascoltandoli. Questo nasce più di un mese fa, quando appresi che Bruno Grampa, collezionista di primo piano ed uno dei massimi esperti di retrocomputing in Italia, avrebbe partecipato all' Open Day del Museo All About Apple (foto - audio) per presentare i suoi computer non Apple in esposizione permanente al museo.
Contattai Bruno per chiedergli di poter registrare e trasmettere la descrizione dei suoi computer e videogame in mostra, molti dei quali delle vere e proprie rarità.
Bruno accettò con entusiasmo, ma c'era un ostacolo che non avevo messo in conto: il sorprendente successo della manifestazione.
Al museo c'era così tanta gente che era impossibile muoversi, figuriamoci registrare un podcast. Così la registrazione è stata rimandata, in modo da fare le cose con calma. Ecco ciò che n'è scaturito.

Con Bruno ci siamo lasciati prendere dai ricordi del periodo in cui l'informatica era soprattutto una questione di coraggio, sia da parte degli utenti, che dei produttori.
Il genio di Clive Sinclair con i suoi computer economici e le sue trovate bizzarre, la Commodore con i suoi mezzi tecnici e soluzioni innovative, i primi tentativi di standardizzazione in un mondo in cui l'interoperabilità non esisteva, i videogiochi, i personaggi surreali che animavano quel periodo, molti dei quali ancora in attività, le BBS e Fidonet vere antesignane di internet, con le quali molti di noi si sono fatti le "ossa telematiche".
Attraverso gli anni '80 siamo giunti ai giorni nostri, alla voglia di retrogaming e retrocomputing, ai vecchi giochi sulle nuove console, sui pc e sui telefonini cercando di analizzare i motivi di questo desiderio di ritorno al passato.

E' difficile riassumere tutti gli argomenti toccati anche solo con un breve
ricordo. Ma la sezione link delle note sulla pagina degli episodi può essere un buon indizio.
