Perché non organizzare una festa diversa, che oltre a divertire (e naturalmente, spaventare) promuova la cultura del download legale via filesharing e p2p?
Ho preparato una breve selezione di film a tema horror scaricabili gratis attraverso BitTorrent. Questi film sono di Pubblico Dominio, ovvero potete fare davvero quello che volete: distribuirli, copiarli, proiettarli a casa e persino in pubblico senza chiedere autorizzazioni e senza dovere soldi a nessuno. Cliccate sul titolo per passare alla pagina di scaricamento del sito Public Domain Torrents, dove potrete prelevarli per PC, lettori Divx da tavolo, iPod, Palmari e PlayStation Portable (PSP) [Non tutte queste opzioni potrebbero essere disponibili per tutti i film].

NOSFERATU
(1922, Germania, Bianco e Nero, Muto con testi in inglese)
Capolavoro dell'espressionismo tedesco (è il grande amore della mia vita... ndFantozzi) è a tutt'oggi il migliore film sul tema "Dracula" mai prodotto, secondo me.
Il regista, Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau con tecniche all'avanguardia per l'epoca (come la proiezione della foresta in negativo o l'uso delle ombre in alcune scene) riesce a rendere l'atmosfera surreale ed inquietante. Da non perdere.
THE BRAIN THAT WOULDNT DIE
(1962, USA, Bianco e Nero, Inglese [Livello di comprensione:medio])
B-Movie attualissimo, di genere "Frankenstein-like", sui limiti etici che la scienza dovrebbe porsi.
Un medico compie esperimenti azzardati, ai confini della medicina, sia in un laboratorio casalingo che sui pazienti dell'ospedale nel quale lavora, tra lo sconcerto dei colleghi.
Tornando dal lavoro ha un incidente automobilistico nel quale la sua fidanzata rimane decapitata. Sotto shock, ne preleva la testa e la conduce nel suo laboratorio personale. Grazie ad un supporto vitale di sua invenzione mantiene in vita la testa, cosciente. Inizia così un turbine di follia alla ricerca di un nuovo corpo per l'amata, che nel frattempo chiede solo di poter morire in pace, covando odio ed inaspettati poteri.
Nonostante in alcuni passaggi sia un po' ridicolo (è pur sempre un B-Movie) può essere di stimolo a discussioni su eutanasia ed accanimento terapeutico.

(1968, USA, Bianco e Nero, Inglese [Livello di comprensione:facile])
La notte dei morti viventi di George A. Romero. L'originale ed insuperabile capolavoro. Epuratelo dal sangue e troverete un meraviglioso manifesto di denuncia sociale. Non credo necessiti di ulteriori presentazioni, inoltre ne avevo già parlato qui.

Il Fantasma dell'Opera, con Lon Chaney Sr. l'uomo dai mille volti. Non serve aggiungere altro.

Buona trasposizione del romanzo di Stevenson. Imperdibile la notte di Halloween
