Ubuntu 8.10 gestisce gli UPS?
I casi sono 3:
- Non è mai capitato un blackout così protratto mentre ero su questo computer in un luuungo periodo di tempo
- Non ho mai fatto caso a questa eccellente funzione, in tutti questi anni.
- Oppure la gestione dell'alimentazione da UPS (almeno dal mio) è una novità di Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
Ricordo che con Open Suse ero diventato pazzo per installare un demone solo per avere le letture dello stato della batteria.
Ottimo, si impara qualcosa anche da una tempesta come quella che in questi giorni sta sferzando l'Italia!
PS: l'UPS in questione è un American Power Conversion (APC) Serie CS, da 650 VA, collegato via USB.

Ciao Carlo, credo di non sbagliare a dire che questa funzionalità era ben implememtata anche nella 8.04…prima non avevo un UPS (APC anche nel mio caso) quindi non saprei dirti…

@Marco: ah, ecco in effetti nel periodo della 8.04 ho fatto un bel po’ di distro hopping su questo PC. Beh, meglio così. Nell’entroterra è un disastro, qui sul mare per il momento ce la caviamo con qualche allagamento…

Sì, ma non funziona. Ho lo stesso UPS, ma, mentre si accorge che manca la corrente e che il gruppo arriva alla carica bassa/critica, non va mai in arresto o ibernazione come impostato nel pannello. Boh.
