Recessione: Ingegneria Genetica e Granchi Giganti rappresentano la soluzione
Ho sempre creduto che la scienza non debba mai essere arrestata, neppure quando scoperte e sperimentazioni possono apparire sterili, immorali o prive di fine chiaro.
Chi avrebbe mai detto, ad esempio, che una possibile soluzione alla recessione arrivasse dall'ingegneria genetica?
Considerando che l'edilizia è un mercato moderatamente resistente alle crisi ma soprattutto che le nuove infrastrutture vengono viste come simbolo di progresso e rinascita, il Dottor Lester Mordock, genetista, ha presentato alla stampa il suo ambizioso progetto, definito da un Op-Ed del New York Times "in grado di risollevare l'economia americana".
I granchi sono dotati di una forza straordinaria nelle loro chele, quindi perché non utilizzarli per la costruzione di palazzi, scuole e autostrade? Questa è la base dell'idea di Mordock, progettare geneticamente una specie terrestre di questi antropodi, con dimensioni e caratterstiche tali da renderli perfette macchine viventi da costruzione.
Intelligenti, dotati di sistemi naturali di smaltimento dei detriti nei cantieri, fortissimi e naturalmente non inquinanti.
Il dottor Mordock, nonostante un orribile incidente che lo ha visto protagonista durante il servizio militare, non ha mai smesso di pensare and un modo per cambiare il mondo per sempre. Sono l'unico a sentire odore di premio Nobel? O forse è solo puzza di pesce?
